Okay, this could not be more simple. Turn on the espresso machine now and make sure there is water in it.
Step 1: set the grinder to the espresso setting. Note the faint red line. Look hard for it, 2" past the finest setting (Turkish).
Step 2: fuck around with the on switch to ensure it runs. The switch sucks. Make sure the coffee is in the hopper and the plastic catcher is in place elsewise, she will not grind
Step three: set the timer knob to '2'
Step 4: hit the start button
Step 5: pour coffee grinds into the portafilter. Loosely, the grinds should be mounded in the portafilter, like you added a tablespoon to a leveled portafilter.
Step 6: tamp the beans, 30lb of pressure. That's pretty tight.
Step 7: coffee machine on for 5 minutes? Okay make coffee. Insert the portafilter and flip the top button. The machine should make a 2 shot pour in about 20 seconds. Voila!
